Backup Duties
-Sparring
Sparring, a controlled fight between more than one canine. A spar is over-watched by an Authoritarian and is ended by the Authoritarian stepping in. Most spars end with that of one of the canines being pinned to the ground unable to come up.
Sparring can be done on various terrains to help you and your opponent learn how to fight upon them.
Commonly, in a spar you are to not seriously harm your opponent, although depending on what is set, that can vary-however it is still the most common setting in a spar.
-Heal
Within the backup it is your primary job to heal those who are injured or sickly. You will be taught herbs and procedures to do in order to heal said patient. Further down your training, you will learn how to administer psycho and physical therapy to patients as well as counselling. With this job also includes that of giving checkups to those who are sick, wounded or are needing a look at some already healed wounds-ensuring they aren't infected and are healed.
-Pupsitting
You will be incharge of sitting pups when needed, keep them occupied and settled until they are good to be left. This includes making sure they don't get into anything, get hurt, play with them, give them a nap if needed and discipline bad behavior. Depending on whose pups you are sitting, you may get a reward.
-Storytelling
A more relaxed job is to tell stories to those who wish to listen! They can be anything from a scary story to an old legend. Bonus reward if you scare them. : P
-Herb Hunt
When you heal you use up herbs, after a while you will be significantly low on herbs. Get a group of medics, a friend, or go by yourself and fetch some herbs out in the land. Be sure to get the ones that grow in that area and travel to biomes where others are needed. Make sure to leave some of that herb behind for regrowth and pick off any wilted ones for survival of the existing plant. Fresher or unripened herbs are the most common types picked.
-Approaching
Sometimes someone not in the pack will be near and begin role-playing. It is the job of the Infantry, Vanguard and Lookout to approach them and ask what brings them near, who they are and, what do they need-if you are in the Backup and approach someone, it is a must someone from the listed joins you. Although if the stranger is aggressive, you are to only attack if they attack you first. If the stranger is passive and answered the questions, you are to leave them and return. It is the job of the Vanguard to oversee any strangers who are sitting, ensuring they don't try anything. You are to escort any stranger or pup needing directions to their desired area, if a pup that is lost, it is to be kept within the camp until a patrol can return it to their parents.
